Lisa Malpass Childress


Lisa was licensed as an attorney in 2003, after receiving a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with honors from Gonzaga School of Law.  Lisa received her Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) in 2001 and her Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Government in 1994 from Eastern Washington University.  From 2003 to 2009, Lisa was employed with the Department of Social and Health Services/Home and Community Services Division serving as an in-house legal benefits attorney for their Medicaid and Adult Protective Services programs. From 2009 to 2012, Lisa was an attorney advisor for the Social Security Administration/Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR). 


 She is a member of the Spokane County Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association (WSBA), and American Bar Association.  She is also a member of the Washington and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (WAELA and NAELA).  She is a Trustee for the WSBA Administrative Law Section and a member of the WSBA Elder Law Section.  Lisa is the past president of the Spokane Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers (2010-2011), is a Leadership Spokane graduate and previously served on the Executive Board of the Corbin Senior Activity Center. 



Finding the need to do more for the Spokane Community, seniors, and vulnerable adults, Lisa opened Malpass Law Office, P.S. in April 2012. Malpass Law Office, P.S. is a Veteran owned business providing a variety of affordable professional legal services and protective services for adults and seniors who may be unable to protect their own interests personally or financially.  Areas of practice include guardianship law, probate, wills, healthcare directives, power of attorney planning, Medicaid planning, and social security disability.   Malpass Law Office, P.S. strives to do the right things for the right reasons.
